The Weekend Novel

Description:

The Weekend by Charlotte Wood follows four lifelong friends whose close bond is tested after the death of their friend Sylvie. The three remaining women—Jude, Wendy, and Adele—gather at Sylvie’s old beach house over Christmas, not to celebrate, but to clear it out before it is sold.

Without Sylvie to maintain the delicate balance between them, old frustrations, painful memories, and buried tensions begin to surface. The novel explores friendship, grief, aging, personal change, and the truths people tell themselves, combining emotional depth with sharp and often dark humor.
