In 2009, Toms invested in a team of international development and nonprofit professionals, now known as the Giving Team. Over the next 10 years, this team developed relationships with over 200 non-governmental and humanitarian organizations in 80 countries worldwide.

Working hand-in-hand with these organizations, Toms could better understand the needs of the communities being served. We could also help meet these needs by integrating Toms resources into existing programs, like those helping out with education, and community development.

Blake Mycoskie is the founder of Toms and the brains behind the brand’s 'One for One' model. The model, which serves Toms’ mission of using business to improve lives, was created to promote corporate responsibility and conscious consumerism. And so, for every pair of shoes they sell, Toms would provide a new pair to a person in need.
